Make-up brush sets Ludovik

I have often been asked to create brush sets. Or to sell them, since people were sure that I have them, because it is a staple for most brands. Most of the questions related to buying brushes start exactly like that: How much does a brush set cost? Or is there a brush set? Or where can I find and buy your brush set?

As for me, I have always been against making commercial sets! I am still against it… That is because I think that it is better not to be lazy, spend same time, scratch your head and create your own set.

Most often, the first reason is laziness. Laziness is everywhere! People are too lazy to choose, to look around, too lazy to spend their time, TOO LAZY TO THINK! I do not understand why they are so nonchalant towards buying an instrument that will be used for regular work, creation and, hopefully, for earning.

The second reason is lack of knowledge! People do not know how to create a set, how to choose brushes, which brushes are for what, how many brushes of which type they need, the difference between types of bristle, form, size etc. A lack of knowledge about brushes in general as an instrument of work! If this is the case, if that is the reason, you should certainly not buy a brush set! You will use it for work. How can you work with instrument you know nothing or little about? Improper treatment will spoil your brushes after several uses, and sometimes after the first use. The brush will just “die” and there will be nothing you can do to “resuscitate” it. In addition, a make-up artist who lacks knowledge about the brushes and does not use them in the proper way will form a wrong opinion about the brushes. That is why before you take an instrument and moreover, before you buy a whole set, you should gather all available knowledge. For example, at my basic make-up course we pay lots of attention to brushes. And before my students even take the brushes in their hands, they get deep and extensive theory of brushes. So that they know what, why, what for and how exactly. So that they could compile their own brush set, guided by the knowledge they acquired during theory studies and the skills they developed during the practical part. If your basic training did not include a block on brushes, I dare say your training was not very good.

Moreover, the main factor that shall be considered when selecting the brushes and creating your set is your skills! Your habits and your signature. Many artists use the same brushes in different ways, however they like. And I cannot know how you like it. Which brush fits you the most. What style you prefer. What your signature is. Some like smaller details and tend to choose small brushes. Some like long brushes, and some choose the short and elastic ones. It is a matter of individuality. And I do not want to break your individuality! I think it should be developed, not destroyed so that you imitate a school or a teacher.

These were the reasons that pushed me to produce my own brushes. My aim is to extend and improve my collection, so that I can always offer a larger choice. So that everyone will have the means to create a very individual and a very personal set, one that matches the artist’s signature, style and method of working. And you say I must select some pieces out of this great variety and compile a set for you? Without seeing you and without knowing you.

For example, there are currently 14 Powder brushes in my Ludovik collection! An average set will include one or two of them. What should I choose?! Which 2 bushes out of 14 go into the set? What about the rest of them? Does it mean they are bad or worthless? So when I am approached with questions on brush sets, I understand that the person does not even know how many brushes there are in the Ludovik collection. And why is that? Because of LAZINESS! There it is again. It means one was too lazy to check which brushes are included in the collection before asking the question. Another pathetic question is “How much does a full set of your brushes cost?” For example, if we buy all your brushes. But why would you need all the brushes?! Why would you need 14 Powder brushes? :) It means the person does not even know how many brushes there are in the Ludovik collection.

But there have been so many people who just want a set, and so many questions, that I have been forced to yield. It has been a long fight, but I have decided to surrender. And then I decided to create several brush sets!!! Not one!))) There will be 10 of them. At least it will give some choice. I have thought long, compiling these brush sets, trying to accommodate for different levels, styles, wishes and capacities of the customers. The sets are based on my work experience and my knowledge about these products. I wanted to create very different sets in terms of price and components, but the main thing was their purpose. I wanted to create what I think the other brands do not have: specialized brush sets for different expertise level or for a certain style of working. I was not thinking about commerce or trade profit, I didn’t stuff the sets with worthless brushes or the ones that were selling badly. I wanted to help you! If you have selected my brand and you trust my experience, I offer you a choice between my brush sets. I like them quite well :))),  because they are really a part of me.

Nevertheless, even if you trust me, and if one of my sets happens to fit you, please pay some attention to what I have said before. And remember that even if you buy the biggest set now, you will still be buying brushes later. It is a process without end or halt. As you learn and try new things, you will constantly need new brushes. Moreover, the progress is moving on, and new items appear everywhere. And you hope that you are moving on as well, increasing your level and your qualification, getting acquainted with new techniques and materials. This means you will need new instruments.

As for me, there are more than 200 brushes in my case :))), and it’s never enough :) I constantly refresh them and add new ones. It is a pleasant disease.
